Conference Title: "EconMusic: The Economics of Digital Music"
The date: February 5, 2009
The venue: Harry Chandler Auditorium, L.A. Times Building
Time: Registration - 12:30 p.m. Conference - 1:00 - 4:45 p.m.

Description:
Grammy-nominated artists along with their producers and labels have much to celebrate this awards season and, come Feb. 8, the winners will bask in the glow of their golden gramophone statuettes. Their acceptance speeches will include thank you’s to fans, as usual; however, as digital music sales continue to grow and artists promote their brands in part through massive online presences, don’t be surprised to hear shout-outs to MySpace and Facebook fan groups along with downloaders who helped boost overall sales.
Grammy season is a fitting time to examine the state of the digital music industry and where it’s headed. EconMusic is a must-attend half-day conference focused on the key strategic issues driving the economics of this industry. On Feb. 5 at the L.A. Times Building, we will look at the marketplace to examine the evolving business models, audience behaviors, threats and opportunities. The program targets leading digital media, music and investment figures and is designed to promote knowledge sharing and encourage networking.
This will be our second EconMusic event, following our London conference in September (see www.contentnext.com/econmusic08).
Like all of ContentNext’s events, EconMusic will be highly interactive and include thoughtfully moderated discussions between our editors, experts, investors, industry leaders and entrepreneurs. Everyone who comes to our events is a participant and a resource, not just an attendee. We strive to provide a forum for industry members to find solutions to problems; communicate with peers and idols; and learn from others’ errors, challenges and success.
